A guiding thought for Jone's current work:

"In my mid-term vision, movements prioritize building the capacity, skill and wide hearts to receive new comrades, while practicing daily and deeply what it means to sustain our relationships and collective visions, uphold our values, and adapt towards purposes. We find ways to bond that aren't limited to pettiness, gossip, cliquishness, which can be so fun and then so destructive. We get skilled at critique that deepens us, conflict that generates new futures, and healing that changes material conditions.

"I've known Jone Lewis for nearly 30 years in her roles as a congregational leader, lay leadership teacher, and thought leader in the philosophy and practice of considered non-theistic living. She brings the rare combination of encyclopedic knowledge, analytic chops, and the deft but gentle intentionality of an earnest teacher. She communicates as clearly as anyone I know, in language that is clear and respects the listener.  Jone has taught me more about building and nurturing healthy and supportive community than all others combined."

"Two decades ago at Lay Leadership Summer School I benefited from Jone Lewis's impressive teaching and facilitation. Her management of an Effective Communication course was particularly eye opening. In multiple workshops since then, I've found Jone's educational offerings well organized and stimulating. Her careful historical research uncovers intriguing information which she presents effectively, often enhanced by powerpoint presentations. She offers ample opportunity for discussion and Q&A, and guides the discussion well. I found her workshop on "The Women of Ethical Culture" particularly enlightening. I highly recommend her workshops."
~ Hugh Taft-Morales, Ethical Culture Leader
"I have known Jone Johnson Lewis for thirty years in her capacity as a Leader (humanist minister) in the American Ethical Union (AEU). During that time she has conducted workshops on improving human relations, and on making boards high functioning. I worked with her on the board development committee of the AEU. She has conducted herself in a professional manner at all times. She listens well to the concerns of others, and adapts her teaching to address those concerns. I am happy to recommend her as a teacher and facilitator."

"I had engaged Jone Lewis as a life coach at a time when I was transitioning from a career as a teacher to trying to establish myself as an entrepreneur and freelancer.  I found Jone to be very sensitive and insightful with real experiences that she shared and were realistic. She helped me uncover my strengths and build on them.  I appreciate her as a person as well as her supportive listening and suggestions on things to consider and try.  She gives concrete advice, not just feel good responses."
